Wei Zhang, MSc., TS(ABB)

Wei Zhang, MSc., TS(ABB) joined Reproductive Partners fertility Center-San Diego in 2011 as a Senior Embryologist and currently has 15 years of experience in the field. Wei achieved her Technical Supervisor certification in both Embryology and Andrology from the American Board of Bioanalysts and subsequently served as Embryology Laboratory Supervisor since 2019.

Prior to joining RPFC-SD, Wei earned a master’s degree in Cell Biology specializing in animal embryology from Sun Yat-Sen University in 2008. In the same year, she joined one of the biggest IVF centers in China as a chief embryologist and was mentored by Father of Chinese IVF-Dr. Guanglun Zhuang. During her employment at the IVF center in China, Wei acquired significant expertise, as the center carried out more than 5000 egg retrievals annually. Over the course of her three-year tenure, she gained extensive experience not only in clinical embryology but also in managing various research projects aimed at enhancing fertilization outcomes.

Wei possesses a profound interest in enhancing pregnancy outcomes through conducting diverse quality assurance studies. She enjoys introducing innovation in laboratory equipment and embryology techniques in an effort to increase efficiency, and work flow in the lab. She is a member of ABB and has published multiple manuscripts and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals

Wei has two children of her own and is enthusiastic about assisting in passing the gift of life on to others. She spends her spare time enjoying her family, outdoors as much as possible, gardening, cooking and enjoying nature.
