What is IUI?

IUI is a less invasive fertility treatment. It involves placing washed and prepared sperm directly into the uterus around the time of ovulation.
This method is often recommended for:

  • Mild male infertility issues.
  • Unexplained infertility.
  • Couples who want a simpler and lower-cost option.

Pros of IUI:

  • Less invasive and affordable compared to IVF.
  • Requires minimal medication.

What is IVF?

IVF is a more advanced treatment where eggs are retrieved from the ovaries, fertilized in a lab, and then transferred to the uterus.
IVF is typically recommended for:

  • Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes.
  • Moderate to severe male infertility.
  • Those who haven’t had success with IUI or other treatments.

Pros of IVF:

  • Higher success rates, especially for older individuals.
  • Can include options like genetic testing and embryo freezing.

Choosing between IUI and IVF depends on your unique situation, including factors like your age, medical diagnosis, and personal preferences. IUI is often a great starting point for mild cases, while IVF offers a more comprehensive solution for complex challenges.
